Setup Nginx HTTP3

What is HTTP3 ?

HTTP/3 builds on User Datagram Protocol (UDP), and is already being used by prominent internet companies such as Google and Facebook. If you're using Chrome and connecting to a Google service, you're probably already using QUIC.

The new version of the HTTP protocol benefits from the bare-metal, low-level UDP protocol, and defines many of the new features which were in previous versions of HTTP at the TCP layer. This provides a way of solving constraints within the existing internet infrastructure.

How to install Nginx HTTP3?

Download Nginx from source

curl -O https://nginx.org/download/nginx-1.19.1.tar.gz

Install dependencies

# Install GCC
yum -y install gcc-c++
# Install CMAKE3
wget https://cmake.org/files/v3.12/cmake-3.12.3.tar.gz
tar zxvf cmake-3.*
cd cmake-3.*
./bootstrap --prefix=/usr/local
make -j$(nproc)
make install

Download Cloudflare HTTP3 patch

git clone --recursive https://github.com/cloudflare/quiche

Build them now

tar xvzf nginx-1.19.1.tar.gz
cd nginx-1.19.1
patch -p01 < ../quiche/extras/nginx/nginx-1.16.patch
./configure \
